Gold Equipment Every New Person Needs

By John Willis

Becoming overwhelmed by the available golf equipment is quite easy to do, especially when you first start playing. Many things get advertised as perfect for new golfers, but many of them fall short of actually being ideal for beginners. When you start off purchasing the equipment that will help you build a solid foundation for your golf game, you will be much better off than if you spend a lot of money on everything else.

You should invest in a good pair of golf shoes first. During a game of golf, you'll spend lots of time on your feet so be sure to buy golf shoes that fit well and that are comfortable. To avoid being uncomfortable during your first few games while breaking in your shoes, try wearing them off the course or to the driving range first. Check with the courses you will play most often to be sure that the spikes on your shoes are appropriate.

This will allow you to save money by not having to throw out your balls after every game and start with a new one at every game and will also help improve your game. A good quality putter should be your next investment. Many people spend all their time and attention focused on drivers and woods hoping to get extra distance. But if you focus more on your short game, the strokes that take place on or near the green, you will really be able to take your game to the next level. Try a few putters out in the store, most golf stores have a small "green" area where you can check them out to get a feel for the putter to see which loft, shaft length, and grip you prefer best, and then compare prices online to get the best deal.

A final piece of equipment you should invest in is protective eyewear. Many beginning golfers overlook the importance of this piece of equipment. But remember, that golf gets played outside in the elements. But you can seriously damage your eyes if you don't protect them. Not having to shield your eyes constantly will make it easier to see where your ball goes as well as where you want it to go. You'll find many different pieces of golf equipment that claim to be ideal for beginners.

Nevertheless, when you acquire these pieces of equipment at the start you'll come to find that there really aren't many other things you need in order to become knowledgeable of the basics of the game. As you skills get better, you can commence at adding new pieces to your inventory for more mixture and potential in your golf game.
