By Paula Storm

There are endless possibilites for sightseeing in this wonderful boot shaped country. This enchanting country was once the center of power, commerce and trading for the known world. With a coastline of approximately 7,600 kilometers it is quite possible to spend the day driving the spectactular Amalfi cooast before heading for a ski trip in the Italian Alps.V:1

Italy remains, today, a world leader in finance and design. The British Empire was influenced by ancient Italy, as was western Europe in general, in the areas of law, culture, and architecture. Plan your itinerary to allow plenty of time to see the ancient Italian influence on modern Italy.

From wonderful gourmet delicacies and famous wines to Rome and the Vatican, Italy offers a tremendous opportunity for enjoyment. Even the most energetic visitor will need weeks to truly emmerse themselves in Italy's culture. There is the Po River Valley, The Italian Alps, the Amalfi Coast to name just a few possibilities, with each of these offering unique opportunities.

Would you want to miss the excitement of Carnival? What about the many beautiful cathedrals and all the examples of ancient architecture? Would you be happy to settle for the same tour of Italy that every other person takes, sitting in an air conditioned bus while the 'real' Italy passes you by?

What about shopping in Venice? Taking in an Opera performance and dinner after? Are you starting to see the freedom that a car hire provides? Making a winter trip? The Alps are a must see! Imagine a cozy evening in front of a warm fire after a day on the slopes. Not what you picture from a tour bus vacation is it?

What about the Amalfi Coast? A leisurely drive with frequent stops at little hamlets. Picture sampling the delicious seafood or famous pizza at quaint spots that offer local wines and ambiance. Or, lumbering up the coast in a large bus stopping only at larger restaurants capable of handling a bus load of people at one time. Not what you had in mind? An Italy car hire makes the difference.

No! Do not go to Italy only once, especially without a personal car hire. That would almost be a tragedy!
