Some exercises you can do is to start on your back and pull one knee into your chest and then take it across your body, and hold for about 30-45 seconds and repeat. This is going to help to start to release the muscle. I love to do the stretching for you in our office, this helps with the correct methodology.
The subsequent fun step to release the muscle is Deep Muscle work. The goal is to get into that area and release any muscle seizures that are going on. It releases pretty quick with correct treatment.
